This week’s stop on THE GREAT AMERICAN POLITICAL TRIP takes us from one end of the Missouri River to the other, starting in the river’s namesake state at the mouth, Missouri, to the location of its source, Montana. Both are considered red states but were John McCain’s two closest wins in 2008. Missouri was once considered the ultimate bellwether. Though Montana got far less attention because it was never challenged on the presidential level, Big Sky Country was a battleground in Senate and Governor elections for decades.
